In recent years, he has expanded the Group's portfolio into the safe deposit box rental sector, elevating traditional storage services to a new level. Tin Fung has introduced high‑performance security technology, enhanced overall service quality – including extended operating hours (9:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and increased storage capacity – and remains open year‑round, ensuring clients can access their safe deposit boxes with greater ease and convenience.

A Foundation of Trust and Integrity

Tin Fung Group has been rooted in Hong Kong for 35 years and is now a well‑known Hong Kong‑based jewellery manufacturer. Its operations span precious metals trading, casting and refining, eco‑friendly K‑gold recycling, and the supply of K‑gold chains and jewellery accessories. In addition to serving over 80% of Hong Kong's jewellery retailers with raw materials and accessory production services, the Group also supplies brands across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Beyond jewellery, the Group has been active in property leasing for many years, renting out industrial and commercial buildings as well as residential units – with over 100 self‑owned properties in the Hung Hom district alone.

Jacky shares: "The previous generation taught me the importance of integrity. In the early days of our business in the 1990s, a production mistake once cost a client over a million dollars. We compensated the client in full. From then on, our service gradually earned the trust and recognition of our peers, leading to exponential business growth." Jacky also regards his father as his role model: "He embodies the hard work and diligence of the older generation, has a strong vision for the industry, and at the same time gives us the freedom to innovate."

A New Spark: Father‑Son Collaboration

What happens when two generations join forces? Jacky recognised that in land‑scarce Hong Kong, space is at a premium. He identified a market need and decided to develop a smart safe deposit box service. "Whether it's property deeds, important documents, jewellery, watches, wine, or the increasingly popular art investments, many people choose to store these items in bank safe deposit boxes due to limited space at home or security concerns. However, local banks are facing a shortage of safe deposit boxes, and their operating hours are relatively short."

Together, father and son set out to find a solution. The father – skilled in spatial planning and material selection – and Jacky – focused on new security technology and marketing – transformed a 7,000 sq. ft. self‑owned property in Hung Hom into a safe deposit box centre featuring nearly 8,000 internationally UL‑certified boxes.

Robust Security and a Hong Kong‑First "Vault‑Within‑a‑Vault"

Security and reliability are the top priorities for any safe deposit box facility. The vault is equipped with multiple advanced security systems, including a proprietary visitor notification system, facial recognition, motion detection sensors, independent monitoring alarms, and electronic access control systems. Inside the vault, a "vault‑within‑a‑vault" provides clients with dual protection, greater storage space, and enhanced privacy.

Tin Fung has partnered with renowned security brands and Lloyd's of London to provide 24‑hour security monitoring and up to HKD$500,000 in full insurance coverage, ensuring clients' belongings are comprehensively protected. To further enhance the customer experience, the vault features private rooms where clients can comfortably organise their collections.

Five box sizes are available, and a 1:1 display area allows customers to experience and try out the boxes in person. The account opening process is quick and simple – taking approximately 10 minutes – with flexible rental periods starting from 3 months, all designed to provide the most efficient and reassuring service possible.

What the previous generation passes on is not just a brand, but its spirit and values. Jacky's father built the business on integrity and a solid reputation, while Jacky continues the family's tradition of excellence, leading the brand towards sustainable development and maintaining a competitive edge in the industry. Jacky shares that the Group has also been actively developing its jewellery manufacturing business in recent years – introducing industry‑leading management certifications (covering quality control, environmental protection, and occupational safety), advanced production equipment, and professional talent, while leveraging social media and big data for brand promotion. These efforts are aimed at rejuvenating the brand and enhancing its international visibility.

Looking ahead, the Group is also planning to expand its safe deposit box centre business to other districts, hoping to provide more citizens with high‑quality storage services.
