We were truly honoured to sponsor the "Overseas Students Yan Chai Night 2025" Charity Ball, jointly organised by Yan Chai Hospital and the Yan Chai Overseas Students Association. This annual flagship event, themed "Starlight," was successfully held on 15 August 2025 at Cloud 39, The Henderson, bringing together philanthropists from all walks of life to support a worthy cause.
Event Highlights and Significance
The event was chaired by Ms. So Hoi Yan, Vice-Chairman of the Yan Chai Hospital Board of Directors, with Board Director Ms. Wong Pui, Mr. So Sai Cheong, and Ms. Tin Wun Yan serving as Vice-Chairmen. The Honourable Mr. Chris Sun Yuk-han, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, JP, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, while artists Sabrina Mendes and Hui Man Hin served as the evening's masters of ceremonies, bringing energy and warmth to the event.
The venue was transformed with a stunning Starlight theme, combining the glittering Victoria Harbour night view through Cloud 39's floor-to-ceiling windows with dazzling light displays. Guests dressed in starry evening attire, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.
The evening's performances were nothing short of spectacular: the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr. Chris Sun, and his wife delighted the audience with a classic duet of The Bund, drawing thunderous applause and inspiring generous donations; emerging singer-songwriter Ashley Lin (Lam Hoi Ling) performed an original piece on the piano, showcasing youthful vitality; Overseas Students Association members joined guests in a rousing rendition of Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies, conveying a message of hope and unity. The evening also featured a live band, a charity auction, fundraising booths, and on‑the‑spot donation drives, making every participant a part of the charitable effort.
In total, the event raised over HKD 4.68 million, with all proceeds, after deducting expenses, donated to the Yan Chai Emergency Assistant Relief Fund to support vulnerable groups in need, including emergency medical aid and community support.
